Continued UK Government Support for the RHI Scheme

The Government has confirmed its continuing support for the RHI scheme introduced to support the replacement of Fossil fuel heat systems with a renewable alternative.

The Renewable Heat Incentive pays the owner of the system for producing heating and Hot water utilising a renewable source. Depending on the technology used the tariff paid, changes.

A full list of current tariffs for the different technologies are available from the DECC and OFGEM websites.

This payment is made quarterly and is provided for 20 years and is indexed linked.

As an example a medium sized commercial system using BIOMASS system currently provides 5.24p per kw of energy produced for a system over 200kw in size and under 1MW.

A typical 500KW system designed correctly would produce an RHI annual payment of £34426.80
